disquiet
04:00
|
|||
i need the sleep, i’m so tightly wound
sleep kills the life in my eyes, it pulls my feet to the ground
i take my own words, watered down
they make their home in my mind, i’m kept awake by the sound
“you’re getting closer every day it seems”
even if i get there, what would that mean?
“you’ve almost made life like your dreams”
but that can’t be true, i’ve barely done anything
i can’t function when i have no escape
my body’s frantic to keep my mind out of this state
there’s no way out, i’ve studied this trap well
unknowingly, i let this bed become my hell
hasn’t it always been this way?
you’re crying and i never know what to say
i wish i could promise it’ll be ok
but i know nothing for sure, and there’s a lot in our way
i can’t function when i have no escape
my body’s frantic to keep my mind out of this state
there’s no way out, i’ve studied this trap well
unknowingly, i let this bed become my hell

restitution

raise my spirits and mend my heart
this is the best and only way to start
we have a brand new functionality
makes sense, compliments our mutuality
listen to yourself, or do you already see?
our voices blend harmoniously
Time is our enemy, Fate our foe
they’ve trapped our minds! we’re not in them though
we took off our clothes and ran away
Circumstance, we deliberately disobey
if they surround us, we’ll climb up the tree
lock any doors, and we’ll find the key

depravity
04:30
|
|||
does this sound right to you?
the conclusion stands a chance if the premises are true
our minds come brand new
the source of stimulus is contrasting light
i can’t fight, i can’t fight it
defiant groups have grown
casting darker shadows than they would off on their own
tainted seed is sown
the daylight succumbs to the darkest night

contracts
03:50
|
|||
the bed, the morning of the move
breakfast in your room
music and the news,
the same
your dad when you left home
the car ride alone
the first place of your own,
the change
the work, running far behind
the world on your mind
sleep traded for time:
refrain
the books you should have read
the fun you had instead
the picture in your head,
the frame
